A FEW REVIEWS

YANK! at the York Theatre

"Denman provides comedy relief and a touch of maturity as Artie, along with supplying the show's enlivening choreography."

Steven Suskin, Variety

"Director Igor Goldin and choreographer Jeffry Denman have made the tiny St Peter's stage work to the show's advantage. Denman does double duty in the musical also appearing as Stu's smooth, tap-dancing mentor, a gay man who knows how to beat the system."

Michael Kuchwara, AP

"Jeffry Denman nicely handles his dual duties as choreographer and as Artie, a reporter at he military magazine YANK, who takes Stu under his wing."

Joe Dziemianowicz, NY Daily News

"Jeffry Denman gives Artie a wicked spin and also devised the snappy choreography."

David Sheward, Backstage

"Denman's charismatic tap dancing is a highlight of any show he appears in, but here, in his New York debut as choreographer of a book musical, he shows great flair for creating dances that are in character (the soldiers dance with the kind of military precision that keeps them from looking like "dancing soldiers") and build dramatic excitement, as well as entertain."

Michael Dale, Broadwayworld.com

"...the charismatic Jeffry Denman who, besides enlivening the stage as the quick-talking, fleet-footed Artie Goldberg, is the man responsible for the choreography that boosts YANK!'s watchability factor. [It] goes a long way to bring out the best in the Zellnik score. "Click" is a case in point....cleverly and enjoyably integrates plot, music and dance."

Elyse Sommer, Curtain Up

"[CLICK] is a phenomenal tap number, performed by Steggert with the production's choreographer Jeffry Denman, who plays Stu's friend, mentor, YANK collaborator and sometime lover, Artie."

"Denman, who has been with the show since its NYMF days, has added depth to his portrayal..."

Dan Bacalzo, Theatremainia.com

"Great levity is provided by Jeffry Denman (also responsible for the show's snappy choreography), who is exceptional as an Army journalist who mentors Stu in the codes of conduct of gay subculture."

Patrick Lee,  Just Show's To Go You

"Top-notch cast....."

"As the openly gay Artie Goldberg, Denman successfully plays him as a cross between Fred Astaire and Noel Coward."

"Denman...is responsible for the choreography and participates in most of the fine tap dancing himself."

Victor Gluck, Theatre Scene

"...some twenty musical numbers illuminate, enliven, drive the story. They are inventively staged by Igor Goldin and choreographer Jeffry Denman, who also plays Artie."

"Denman has all the right colors in his portrait of what used to be called "the song and dance man" (who happens to be gay) that is Artie."

Richard Seff, DC Theatre Scene

"...working at Yank Magazine where Artie (Jeffry Denman) is head journalist and who helps Stu secure a job as photographer....teaching and convincing him how to protect himself with a great syncopated tune "Click". He is also responsible for the great dance sequences."

Yank! - Gallery Players, Brooklyn

The choreography of this show is brilliant. Musical veteran Denman serves as top-notch choreographer here. His dance routines are urgent and sinewy, packed with muscular power and graceful precision.

The Brooklyn Paper

For his part, Denman positively explodes with energy and charisma, particularly during his wonderful tap dancing sequences (the actor also doubles as the show's choreographer). His duet with Steggert, "Click," is the song-and-dance highlight of the show.

Theatremania.com

"Click," a fantastic tap duet for Artie to indoctrinate Stu to the fleshly wonders hidden right before his eyes. (Denman also provided the show's spirited choreography, which is never better than here.) There’s even a full-length ballet in which Stu's choices come back to haunt him in grand Rodgers-and-Hammerstein style.

From Noel and Gertie (If Love Were All) at MusicalFare Theatre

Jeffry Denman's direction finds the right pace throughout. His choreography adds much to Coward ambience by means of well-placed slow dances and much to audience amusement in the fast, comic routines.

The Buffalo News - Richard Huntington

From Naked Boys Singing

"With Jeffry Denman's choreography the show is staged with loads of charm and theatrical saavy."

David Kaufman, The Daily News

"It's hard not to enjoy Naked Boys Singing. Loads of unconnected numbers with Jeffry Denman's fairly flashy choreography…"

Lady Bunny, TimeOut

"Jeffry Denman provides choreography that revels in the soft-edged cliches of the most cornball show-biz dance arrangements."

Newsday

"Jeffry Denman's choreography is fast-paced and resourceful."

Victor Gluck, Backstage
